Finally, it’s over! We mean the Humphries-Kardashian wedding ceremony and this just signals a new beginning for the two as Hollywood’s newest Royal Couple said ‘I Dos’ last Saturday, August 20. In early reports, Kim said that she wanted her wedding cake to resemble that of Prince William and Duchess Kate’s. Obviously, her wish went beyond it as the posh and much-hyped $20 million wedding ceremony was lavish enough to call it one of the weddings of the decade.
The news about the wedding became an instant sensation since Kris and Kim proudly broke the news not only because of their stardom but because of the fact that Kim never goes off style. Future wives sensed that it will be a wedding-cum-fashion show where they can get ideas for their own wedding celebration. And it was – from the wedding shower to the gown to the cake and reception to the floral designs.
Let us take a peek at how the Humphries-Kardashian nuptial went.
Here Comes The Bride…
Kim donned three sleek Vera Wang creations – one, a white strapless wedding gown in full tulle skirt with basque waist and Chantilly lace appliqué which highlighted her almost-perfect figure, and the second, a mermaid gown with bodice accentuated by more Chantilly lace and skirt embellished with hand-cut organza petals which the bride quickly slipped into after the ceremony. Wearing her hair up, her veil had jewel and diamond accents that touched the forehead. Kim completed her wedding attire by wearing a pair of Guiseppe Zanotti shoes. As a whole, the chic wedding attires revealed the TV star’s classic allure layer by layer.
The maids-of honor Kourtney and Khloe, and bridesmaids Kendall, Kylie Jenner, and Kaela, Kris’s sister sported Pippa Middleton-inspired silk strapless ivory mermaid gowns.
On the other hand, the groom was spotted garbing a white peak lapel tuxedo jacket with white shirt and white bow tie matched with a pair of black tuxedo pants designed by Ermenegildo Zegna.
Kim’s good friend Lorraine Schwartz designed her engagement ring as well as the couple’s wedding ring.
Wedding Bell’s A-Ringing
Black and white dominated the Humphries-Kardashian wedding. Guests were requested to come in their black or white attires as per the bride’s request probably so that all of them can match the yin-yang-ish backdrop.
After the ceremony, a magnificently prepared reception served as the scene of the festivities. It was so awe-inspiring that it could give the Royal couple a run for their money. Built in the multi-million estate in Montecito, California was a huge marquee that housed the sun-down after-party. Over 440 A-lister guests attended to share with the reality TV star and basketball player’s happiest moment as bride and groom.
Ryan Seacrest and actress girlfriend Julianne Hough, Ciara, Lindsay Lohan, and Avril Lavigne were among Kim’s prominent attendees. Robin Thicke performed ‘Angels’ for the couple’s wedding dance and Earth, Wind & Fire belted out their classic hits as well.
What’s Eating?
At the reception, the guests feasted on luscious dinner catered by culinary expert and celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck who also designed the towering 6 ft. 10-tier white cake with chocolate-chip and vanilla icing embellished with black-and-white decorations. The cooking genius served buffalo mozzarella, tomato salad, agnolotti pasta with sweet corn mascarpone and summer truffles, and roast chicken with Yukon Gold potato puree, caramelized brussels sprouts and summer truffles.
Mr and Mrs Humphries held a fairy-tale wedding that every aspiring bride would love to experience the same joy, same lavishness and same guest list but do not have the same budget. Anyway, consider the whole wedding something that may give you a few wedding suggestions.
